Me, Myself & Eye
HEY! My name is Luke and I’m a designer based from Montreal, Quebec. Art and design is my passion. My goal is to create work that is meaningful and conveys a strong message. I like design that strives to be timeless instead of being trendy which I achieve that by exploring and being curious in order to expand my creativity. You could say I am always on the luke-out...
As a designer, we are always luke-ing at our screens. In order to stay sane, here are the things [eye] like to do on my free time.

Mandate
Commuting can be a hassle in Montreal. Troubles left and right on a line. Packed wagons on rush hours. We can’t catch a break. But that is what creates the whole subway experience. We get happy, mad or sad or all three at the same time. However, Montreal is known to have one of the largest underground cities. The metro system was created during the expo 67 which was a major event for Montreal and it has been practical for the civilians. This book is to appreciate the art and the construction that are displayed all around the metro system. This is the "Color Way".
Ideation
Solution
All the stations are unique in their own way. They all have their own architectural design. But in unity, they are part of one body that creates harmony between them. This is the kind of spice I wanted. This is the “msg” for my design. I designed a book that would talk about stations but it would show the abstractness of it. I would puzzle each artwork of each station to create something new. They would all interconnect with each other in some way. In order to stay coherent, I used a swiss grid that is symmetrical which is a perfect fit. Each page would have something new but you wouldn’t be weirded out by it because the grid helps it to be consistent. I want the reader to feel immersed. People have taken the metro, but this book is to focus on the art and bring them to a whole new different station.
