Vitaming Packaging Design

Vitamins on shelf - Studio: Little Ko Ceramics

Mandate

This project was to create a series of three bottles for three types of vitamins for a local pharmacy in Montreal. Montreal is an interesting city with a rich culture. So my take was to stray away from regular boring packaging to a more interesting and innovative concept that would represent the city’s values.

Ideation

The process to find a solution for the packaging was not easy.
It had to stand out from the packaging that could be found in pharmacies and it should be visually aesthetic to the consumer's eye. Nowadays, people are most likely to buy eco-friendly products so that also was a hard challenge. I had to go through many con-
cept developments to be outside of the box, yet I was struggling to find something coherent.

Solution

Since Montreal is rich in local and artisanal products, I went more
in depth into that theme. I finally came to a solution taking into consideration to be practical and eco-friendly. The series consists of using reusable glass bottles and the labels use recycled cardstock. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. The whole design is minimalistic so it would be simple and accessible to consumers.
The typeface used is a mono typeface named Simplon. Having descriptions and conditional lists, this typeface scales into proportions so it makes it easier to read . Later on, I created a line system to separate info while keeping it simple. Less is more.
